AIRMIC Activities


Over the last few years AIRMIC has been involved in:
  • Regular dialogue with the Financial Services Authority (FSA), HM Treasury, Association of British Insurers (ABI), Lloyd’s and broker organisations
  • Lobbying for risk and insurance managers to be excluded from FSA regulation when placing business on behalf of their associated companies
  • Consultation with the FSA and the European Union on competition in the insurance market and appropriate arrangements fro broker remuneration 
  • Development of the Claims Performance Index to measure the capability of insurance companies in handling claims 
  • Roadshows on topical issues such as insurance compliance, risk management software and other subjects 
  • Published guides, including the Insurance Buyers Guide and the AIRMIC guide to Directors' and Officers' Liability Insurance

In addition each AIRMIC Member is entitled to:

  • The biennial Salary and Status Survey for members to give them a benchmark with regard to pay and conditions for risk and insurance managers
  • AIRMIC News, the monthly newsletter, plus RIsk Directions
  • Access to the AIRMIC website, including the members' discussion area
  • Email alerts on relevant topical subjects
  • A copy of Strategic Risk magazine eight times a year

AIRMIC publishes a large number of documents relating to Risk and Insurance management and related topics, including campaign issues.  These can be found in the library section.
