The Risk Leadership Programme developed by Airmic with City, London Business School, is designed to help risk management professionals "develop strategy and leadership skills as their responsibilities and career increases." To learn what it is like in practice, we consulted one of the first students, Tayo Oyinlola of intu.
A few places remain for the 2018/2019 Programme which commences 25 September 2018. Julia Graham can provide more details: julia.graham@airmic.com )
It was, she says, a transformative experience. Her boss Claire Combes says, "I'm amazed at the impact that the course has had on Tayo".
Below are their comments in more detail.
Tayo Oyinlola
"If you are looking for a leadership course that will challenge and stretch you I believe the City Airmic leadership programme is the place to be in 2018. Having completed an MBA a few years ago I didn't expect the AirmIc leadership course to transform me as much as it has. I feel like I went into an invisible car wash and coming out transformed.
"I am so excited about the programme and happy to see the investment that the Airmic leadership team have put into it to ensure the content is relevant especial for the digital age. I feel that the change I have experienced started from the first couple of months. The course has helped me grow my network with people different industries and profession; this has helped me gain a more rounded view of business situations. I now see myself as a valuable contributor to the group rather than just within the risk and assurance team.
"Below are the benefits that I have found:
Tayo's manager, Claire Combes
"It has paid for itself already and she hasn't yet finished it!
"I have seen an enhancement in the way that she is expressing herself and in her contribution to the business. She is a far more rounded leader. I have noticed that she is proactively challenging more and in a different way that is really making us take a step back and look at things differently.
"She has initiated a number of new projects that will really add value, such as the development of an innovation framework for the business. She is not afraid to try new things and drive internal change and she seems more aware of external changes. She has developed into a confident, well-rounded leader."
