Main Duties

  • Support the Head of Procurement & Contracts in ensuring that the insurance requirements of the company are covered by appropriate policies, liaising with line managers, Directors, insurance brokers and legal advisors as necessary 
  • Manage insurance renewals with support from insurance brokers and update insurers of changes in GBRF business.
  • Periodically audit key suppliers and customers to ensure they have insurance in accordance with contract requirements
  • Directly manage 3rd party claims both for and against GBRf and liaise where necessary with insurance brokers claims management teams (excludes contract performance claims)
  • Support responsible line managers with claims advice on personal injury and motor claims
  • Ensure all claims are negotiated and managed to completion as soon as reasonably practicable whilst seeking to maximise compensation to GBRf and minimise liability.
  • Manage the claims database and providing regular reporting on status and financial liability, including preparing reports for and attending Director level Claims update meetings.  
  • Support the Head of Procurement & Contracts in management of the insurance brokers and deputise on all insurance matters as required.  
  • Assist the Procurement & Contracts team on other matters as required

  • Commercial claims experience preferred
  • Some commercial insurance experience preferred
  • Experience of working with legal and other professional advisors
  • Rail industry experience preferred
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise whilst managing multiple tasks
  • Attention to details and the ability to understand complex agreements.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Strong presentation and report writing skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
