A key opportunity has arisen in MBDA's Risk Management and Insurance team providing an interesting opportunity to be involved in a broad range of insurance and risk management activities and work with staff in all functions and levels. You will need to develop and work with both internal and external contacts (e.g. brokers, insurers, loss adjusters and other risk and insurance professionals).

• Manage insurance  (inc. claims) across MBDA UK covering staff, sites and functions
• Organise UK crisis management and business continuity activities and exercises
• Support Risk Management and Insurance activities across the group
  • In particular to be the primary point of contact on insurance for MBDA’s overseas offices
• Organise risk surveys of all UK sites and coordinate the responses to insurer’s recommendations.
• Formulate and deliver Insurance and Risk management solutions for exposures that can be complex and challenging
• Maintain UK Risk and Insurance material on MBDA’s Intranet

The Risk Management and Insurance department is responsible for facilitating and promoting risk management across MBDA. It is also responsible for the provision and management of MBDA’s insurance programme. It is a multinational team with a Risk and Insurance Manager in each MBDA National Company as well as group roles. The role will allow you to be involved across different parts of MBDA and across different countries including France, Italy, Germany and UK where you will be based.

What we're looking for from you:

• A good understanding of risk and insurance principles is necessary
• An understanding of the standard insurance policies a company would have in place
• Good interpersonal and communication skills are needed as you will be dealing with people at all levels of the organisation
• Good computer literacy skills are essential, including ability to use spreadsheets
• A helpful and understanding but objective approach is necessary, particularly when dealing with insurance claimants
• Ability to explain, encourage and persuade people to undertake appropriate risk management and insurance practices
• Need to be self-motivated and work as part of wider teams
• The role provides an interesting balance of variety and responsibility
