Airmic chair Helen-Clare Pope hailed another year of breaking records at the association’s Annual Dinner, in a glamour-filled evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
“I’m always amazed how much Airmic achieves each year,” Pope told more than 900 Airmic members, partners and sponsors in the hotel’s Great Hall. She noted that Airmic now has more members than ever and saw the largest number of delegates attend the Birmingham conference, whilst annual Airmic Academy attendance now exceeds 600.
In reference to guest speaker Jo Brand’s failure to turn up last year, Pope joked: “And in a revolutionary and dramatic departure from last year, our guest speaker is already in attendance. Another record broken!”
It was the largest Annual Dinner to date with speeches from TV presenter Gabby Logan and Julie Bentley, CEO of Girl Guiding UK, Pope’s chosen charity of the year.
