International breakfast attracts associations from around the world
Airmic celebrated the global risk community by welcoming peers from other risk management and related associations to an international breakfast in Birmingham last month.
The breakfast included counterparts from FERMA, DARIM, GVNW, NARIM, PARIMA and IRMSA, which represent, respectively, risk managers from Europe, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Pan-Asia and South Africa. There were also attendees from the Business Continuity Institute, the Chartered Insurance Institute, the Institute of Risk Management and the Financial Conduct Authority.
Participants discussed some of the pertinent issues facing their risk communities, including the changing role of the risk manager, the need for collaboration, and the importance of transparency in broker remuneration models.
A follow-up meeting will be held in October at the FERMA Risk Management Forum in Monte Carlo.
