In a signal that it is to increase the focus on enterprise risk management, Airmic has unveiled plans for an ERM Forum in the autumn. It is the first dedicated major event on this topic the association has ever held.
Those expected to take part include senior business leaders. Hans Læssøe, senior director of risk management at Lego, and Colin Campbell, Head of Risk Management at Arcadia, are among those already booked to lead masterclass case studies.
Subjects include risk culture, crisis management, people risk, risk appetite, risk maturity and innovation.
“Although Airmic is already recognised as a thought leader when it comes to ERM, much of our work in this area has been with smaller groups. With this Forum we intend to widen the discussion, especially to our members,” said deputy CEO Julia Graham.
“Our talks with FTSE chairmen, as well as feedback from risk managers, indicate that boards are keener than ever for a focus on risk, something we are uniquely placed to support. Furthermore, it is our view that all Airmic members will benefit from a wider understanding of risk, regardless of their job titles. It will help in their jobs today and support their careers as we move into the so-called fourth industrial revolution.”
The Forum, which is expected to attract 150 people and will include an exhibition of risk management service suppliers, will take place in London on Thursday 10th November. Airmic expects to announce the full line-up in July.
Registration is free to Airmic members and will open shortly after the conference in Harrogate.
Airmic represents professional risk managers and insurance buyers at nearly 500 companies in the UK. Its annual conference “New Frontiers in Risk” takes place in Harrogate June 6-8.
