Over 60 workshops and webinars planned for 2019
The 2019 Airmic Academy has been launched, with over 60 workshops and webinars planned.
The sessions cover topics ranging from cyber risk engineering to articulating risk with the board and are open to all members, regardless of experience.
Former Airmic chairman Patrick Smith has taken up the new role of principal of the Academy and will be hosting each workshop.
He commented: "I am delighted to be supporting the Airmic Academy. It's a flagship feature of the Airmic package and a unique opportunity for members to participate and learn in a way that is tailored to the needs of the risk and insurance management community."
He added: "It's a very friendly environment, and a great opportunity for members to extend and deepen their networks. Whatever your level of experience, I urge all members to come along."
Academy sessions now available include lessons to be learned from the Novichok event; insurance claims disputes and arbitration; slips, trips and falls; and the Edelman Trust Barometer. Find out more information and book available academies and webinars here.
Eleanor Bounds has also joined the Airmic team as training and networking administrator to work with Patrick and our partners who deliver the sessions.
Julia Graham, Airmic's deputy CEO and technical director, said she was "delighted" to welcome Eleanor, who joined the team in December: "The Academy is one of our most important member offerings, so we are always looking for ways to improve and extend what it offers, and Eleanor, together with Patrick, will play a key role."
She added: "We have some new ideas for 2019 including an in-depth analytics 'bootcamp' and an Academy Day focussed on Geopolitical risk has been organised for 15 April - see this edition of Airmic News for more details”.
