The session will use highly interactive content including quiz questions, puzzles and polling to explore the fast-developing world of remote working. We will consider what we mean by remote working and discover the benefits remote working can bring. We will also identify the potential threats and risks to both business and individuals that poorly managed remote working involves, and the main ways those risks can be mitigated through both technical and people-centred solutions.
You will consider aspects of your own personality, working style and remote environment that make effective remote working easier or more difficult. You will learn practical strategies you can tailor to your own needs in order to remain safe, healthy and effective as a remote worker on a long-term basis. By the end of the session, you will be able to:
- Describe the key features of remote working
- List the main pros and cons of remote working
- Identify significant operational and regulatory risks associated with remote working and applicable mitigation techniques
- Design a tailored strategy to look after your own health, safety and wellbeing as a remote worker
