The recent AGM held by Airmic provided an opportunity for the outgoing chair Tim Graham to welcome, Angela Iannetta, his successor in the role.
Aimic’s Annual General Meeting on 5 September provided an opportunity for a ‘passing of the baton’ between one chair and another incoming.
Tim Graham has been chair of Airmic for the past year, coming to the end of his tenure of the role.
He is succeeded by Angela Iannetta, a highly experienced risk professional, fellow Airmic board member, and group head of risk and insurance, British American Tobacco.
Tim reflected on the past year, saying that Airmic was now being heard by the government and regulators, along with other professional bodies.
“We have an engaged and diverse board, an active executive and committees, and an amazing Airmic team, led by Julia. I would like to thank you all,” Tim said, addressing Airmic’s membership, team and the Airmic Board.
“However, nothing would be worthwhile without our members and their engagement, and little could be achieved without our partners and their support.
“We appreciate and value them all. The risks and opportunities our members face continue to grow in complexity and at an increasing pace of change,” he said.
“Our response will also continue to grow and change. We will consider new business opportunities yet nurture what we have,” he continued.
Tim concluded: “Airmic entered 2023, our Diamond Anniversary year, looking beyond the horizon with optimism and with our members and our partners by our side. I cannot express enough the great honour it has been for me to be the chair of Airmic over the past fifteen months.”
