‘The Stig’ to headline Airmic Dinner

Ex-Formula 1 driver Perry McCarthy, also known as the ‘original Stig’ in the BBC’s Top Gear, will be the guest speaker at this year’s Airmic Dinner, the association has announced.

1000 tickets for the annual event, one of the social highlights of the risk management calendar, are now on sale, and nearly three-quarters of tables have already sold. The dinner will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane on 8 December.

McCarthy became a household name in 2003 when, after much speculation, he was revealed as the original anonymous driver on Top Gear, a job he held for the first two series of the show. He has since worked as a TV commentator and best-selling author and is well-known for his strong sense of humour.

Tickets will be on sale later this month.
