The Airmic Annual Dinner was held on 6 December.
Airmic’s Annual Dinner took place at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London on 6 December 2022. The Alzheimer’s Society’s Insurance United Against Dementia campaign was the chosen charity of the Airmic chair and the beneficiary of funds raised on the evening.
The black-tie-and-cocktail-gowns event was over-subscribed: all tables were booked, and the last seats were sold several weeks before the dinner took place.
Tim Graham welcomed everyone to the dinner which provides an opportunity to celebrate our wonderful profession which offers “something for everyone”!
Tim recognised the commitment, support, and sheer energy of those in the room and the reason why Airmic is thriving.
“As we start to write the next chapter in the Airmic story I want you to know that we have a clear Purpose and Vision for the future. This involves an association and a profession, that is increasingly relevant, enjoys respect and is representative of those it serves. We treasure our members. We treasure the relationships with our partners. We treasure our relationships with the associations, institutes, and universities with whom we increasingly collaborate. Collaboration is the name of the future game – none of us can live and thrive in silos."
Guest speaker the Right Honourable Baroness Northover spoke about some of the challenges facing risk management and how the insurance industry could play its party in protecting businesses and the wider society.
The Annual Dinner 2022 was also the last to be organised by Airmic head of events Susi Ozkurt, departing after more than a decade leading Airmic’s events. We thank Susi for her service and wish her every success in her new role and we welcome Gemma Warren who joins Airmic as Head of Events in February.
