Brexit beyond the deal

On 12 January 2021, Airmic held a roundtable, in partnership with AIG, to discuss the road ahead for the UK after the signing of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement – to give the deal, as was reached between the two sides on 24 December 2020, its official name. Charles Grant (Director, Centre for European Reform) reflected on the latest developments in the political and economic landscape. Nick Collier (Managing Director, Brussels, City of London Corporation), Charlotte Clark (Director of Regulation, Association of British Insurers (ABI)) and Suzy Awford (Head of Regulatory & Government Affairs, UK & Europe, AIG) discussed the regulatory and business issues that lie ahead, with a focus on the implications for the insurance sector. The session was moderated by Neil Sherlock (Senior Advisor, PwC).
