Airmic Learn and Develop - looking ahead to 2021

2021 is an exciting year for Airmic, despite the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, as it continues to go from strength to strength with the huge range of benefits it offers members, including the exciting, and evolving, range of learning and development solutions it provides.

Airmic is continuing to successfully navigate the choppy waters of the current environment by delivering our learning and development (L&D) online.

Complementing the vast array of technical, event, and member networking and community services that Airmic provides, sessions such as the weekly topical Airmic LIVE, our regular Airmic Academy workshops and our annual Academy Forums are all underway or about to be announced.

New and exciting L&D products have launched. There is the monthly ERM Series 2021; the Airmic fastTrack Programme has received a rebrand; and the Airmic Competency Framework for Risk Management Professionals is about to be updated and re-issued.

Similarly, Airmic’s popular Mentoring Scheme continues to gain momentum with over 60 mentees having joined the scheme, and the 2021 annual Business Excellence Programme launched in January with a full cohort of delegates.

Adam Ireland, Airmic’s learning and development manager, explained: “Our goal is to continue to offer a wide range of relevant, practical, and exciting L&D solutions, helping members maximise their professional development, and to ensure members can consume the content they need when they need it, thus personalising their experience.”

What else is happening on the L&D front in 2021? Airmic’s plans include:

  • a shift back to blended and face-to-face delivery (hopefully) from July onwards, while maintaining all the benefits of online delivery where appropriate
  • an end-to-end review of the member L&D journey and experience to inform future practice
  • improved evaluation of L&D events using member feedback
  • a clearer link to competencies and CPD of all L&D events
  • new content and topics throughout the year.

What’s coming up next?

“Airmic LIVE, the Airmic Academy and fastTrack sessions run throughout February and the following months, including a fastTrack session on 25 February,” Ireland says. “In this session we’ll look at the value of lifelong learning and CPD, the changing competencies every professional needs to be ‘future fit’.”

These are encompassed by Airmic’s Competency Framework and Airmic’s Professional Journey, he explains, as well as a wide range of L&D solutions designed to equip members with the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to prosper in today’s workplace.
